OXFORD - Vann Tingen Ellington, 88, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Universal Health Care in Oxford. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, June 11, at 2 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton by the Rev. Gary Vassar.
She was a native of Franklin County and was the daughter of the late Hubert T. and Betty Vann Holmes Ellington. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from Westinghouse.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn E. Wilson of Oxford; sons, Tommy Ellington of Rocky Mount, Michael Ellington of Henderson and Robert Ellington of Roseville; one niece; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Granville County Animal Shelter, 5650 Cornwall Rd., Oxford, NC 27565.
The Ellington family is under the care of Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home.
