LUCILLE STALLINGS COLSTON

NASHVILLE - Lucille Stallings Colston, 93, went home to be with her Lord on July 31, 2014. Lucille was born May 11, 1921 in Franklin County to the late William and Annie Borkey Stallings. Lucille was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grammy. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church; she sang in the choir and was involved with the Sunshine Sisters. Along with her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, James Randolph Colston, and brothers, Durwood, Thurman, Theodore, and Phillip Stallings.

Lucille’s memory will be cherished by two daughters, Martha Colston Bass (Ronald) of Nashville, NC and Phyllis Colston Vick; two granddaughters, Ronda Bass Lyons (Bryon) of Washington, NC and Marla Bass Sinko (Jon) of Daniels, WV; two great-grandchildren, Colston and Caeden Lyons; one brother, Lon Stallings of NJ; one sister-in-law Elaine Stallings (Theodore) of Louisburg, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Saturday, August 2, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from 3:00-4:00 pm. The Funeral Service immediately followed the visitation at 4:00 pm at the church with the Rev. Chet Harvey and the Rev. Frankie Carroll officiating. The burial took place at the church cemetery.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks for the wonderful care provided by Somerset Court of Rocky Mount for the past nine years as well as the staff of Nash General Hospital over the past week.
