ONNIE P. SMITH PRUITT
August 24, 1917 – July 30, 2014

LOUISBURG – Onnie Pendergrass Smith Pruitt, 96, of Louisburg, passed away Wednesday evening.

Mrs. Pruitt was a daughter of the late Richard and Ola Pendergrass. She was preceded in death by her husbands, J. “Hamp” Smith, and G.W. Pruitt; son, Tommy Smith; grandson, Travis Gupton; sisters, Irene Collier, Margaret Mosley, Pauline Coley, and Ethel Southerland; brother, Ballard Pendergrass.

A funeral service was held 11 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at Maple Springs Baptist Church where she was a faithful member, with the Reverend Jason Havens officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the committal service in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Gray S. Haithcock of Raleigh; Lois S. Ellis of Dunn; Gladys S. and Johnny Aycock; Debbie Smith, all of Louisburg; grandchildren, Scott Ellis; Cory Ellis and wife, Lara; Danette Barnett and husband, Kenny Driver; Bobby Aycock; Danelle Hicks and husband, Scott; 4 great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Maple Springs Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 1938 NC 56 Hwy E, Louisburg, NC, 27549.
