AMEDEO "JOHN" GALLO

LOUISBURG --Amedeo "John" Gallo, 86, died Wednesday after-noon, Sept. 24, 2014 at his home. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church.

He was a son of the late Giovanni and Anna Gallo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Cutrone and Jean Maglione; brothers, Joseph, Vincent and Lawrence Gallo. He was a W.W. II Navy veteran and a retired New York City police officer.

Surviving: wife, Carmela Corrado-Gallo; sons, John (Karen) Gallo of Levittown, NY, Thomas (Dolores) Gallo of Plainview, NY; stepson, Robert Corrado; stepdaughter, Kristie (Ross) Nanfro, all of Louisburg; sister, Mary Enderley of Mattawan, NJ; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Building Fund, 937 N. Main Street, Louisburg, NC 27549 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 8:30 p.m. on Friday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
