BERNICE S. HARRIS
January 7, 1928 - October 13, 2014

SPRING HOPE - Bernice Stone Harris, 86, of the Justice Community, died Monday night at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Harris was the daughter of the late Bernice and Ruby Stone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Harris. She was a life time member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church where she was active in the choir, taught Sunday School classes, and served as the church organist for more than 40 years. Mrs. Harris worked as a Home Extension Agent in Franklin County for 25 years.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Duke Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Thompson and Dr. Merlin Boone officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Warren Boone of Louisburg; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Sandy Harris of Bridgewater, VA; brother, Leon "Bill" Stone of Morganton; grandchildren, Leigh Anne Arrington; Bill Boone and spouse, Richard Hunt; Laura Staab and husband, Josh; Jim Harris, and Paul Arnold; great-grandchildren, Anna Grace and Emily Elizabeth Arrington and Anthony Hunt.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615 or Duke Memorial Baptist Church, Benevolence Fund, 3976 NC Hwy. 581 N., Spring Hope, NC 27882.
