JOSEPH H. "JOE" TUCKER JR.

CLARKSVILLE - Joseph "Joe" Hinton Tucker, Jr., 80, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Clarksville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Greg Randall and the Rev. Dr. Billy Seate officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Friday from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, and at other times at his daughter and son-in-law's residence, Jane and Michael Lyon.

He was born in Nash County to the late Joseph Hinton Tucker, Sr. and Lillie Gay Tucker. He served his country in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956. He retired from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company, where he was employed for 40 years. During those 40 years, he also worked part time with Retail Clerk's Union as a business agent. The Tuckers moved to Clarksville in 1988, to help their son-in-law and daughter establish Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, where he continued to be on staff until his death.

He was predeceased by his wife, Cordelia Hayes Tucker; his parents, Joseph H. Sr. and Lillie Tucker; and his sister, Lucille Tucker Champion.

Surviving: son, the Rev. Joseph "Joey" H. Tucker III, and daughter, the Rev. Jane Tucker and husband Michael R. Lyon; one granddaughter; two aunts; and many nieces and nephews.
