WILTON U. SMITH

LOUISBURG - Wilton Uzzle Smith, 85, died Sunday, March 15, 2015, at DukeRaleigh Hospital in Raleigh. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 17, at Louisburg Baptist Church with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg.

He was the son of the late Coleman and Lula Hedgepeth Smith, and was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and his beloved daughter, Mary Lu Smith.

He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with the US Department of Agriculture in Soil Conservation for 33 years. He served as a deacon, treasurer and as advisory board chairman of Louisburg Baptist Church.

Surviving: his wife, Mary John Inscoe Smith of the home; a daughter, Marilyn S. Huey of Roxboro; a brother, Richard Smith (Ann); two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
