Mrs. Gladys Finch Cooke

LOUISBURG - Mrs. Gladys Finch Cooke, 84, of Ingleside, passed away Thursday Aug. 13, 2015 at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Thomasville.

She was born Oct. 17, 1930, to the late Hobson Gray Finch, Sr. and Mattie Faulkner Finch. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and retired in 1996 from Wake Finishing after 45 years of service.

Mrs. Cooke was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and in her spare time loved working in her yard and enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews, especially her great-nephew Jeremy Milton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday Aug. 17, 2015 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Cooke is survived by her sister, Lois Finch Ayscue of High Point; special sister-in-law, Dollie Finch and special brother-in-law, Ernest Milton both of Louisburg; several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Elton H. Cooke; three sisters and four brothers.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church, 4582 US HWY 401 North, Louisburg, NC 27549.
