EDITH HOCKADAY RAMEY

FRANKLINTON - Edith Sullivan Hockaday Ramey, 90, of Franklinton died Sunday, August 23, 2015. Born on June 26, 1925 to the late Sidney and Arnie Elizabeth Hunt Hockaday. Edith was also preceded in death by her brother, Henry Hockaday, and her sister, Ruth Peed.

Edith was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church. She loved her family and cooking. Edith was a social person, enjoying time spent with all people. While living at Louisburg Manor and Louisburg Nursing and Rehab Center, Edith loved her friends, neighbors, and the staff members.

Funeral services will be held August 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Franklinton Baptist Church with Reverends David Averette and DuPre Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday August 28, 2015 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 East Mason St., Franklinton, NC.

Surviving are Edith's daughter, Diane Lingenfelter; three grandchildren, Jamie Rosario (Omar), Julie Mullins (Dustin), and John Lingenfelter II; three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Gabriel, and Audrey; and her brother, Sidney Hockaday (Virginia).
