HENDERSON - Charles Frank Floyd Jr., 81, of 4051 Raleigh Road, Henderson, NC died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his home.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Charles Frank and Grace Edwards Floyd.

Mr. Floyd was a graduate of Zeb Vance High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, was a former Sunday School Superintendant, and served on the Boards of Trustees, Finance, and Missions. He began his career in the auto parts business in 1955 with Standard Motor Parts and became the Store Manager in Oxford in 1958. In 1965, he went to work with NAPA in the Richmond, Virginia Warehouse as a Field Representative. In 1972, he opened Consolidated Parts Inc. in Louisburg, NC. He sold the business to Standard Motor Parts in 1985 and went back to work for them. After a total of forty-three and a half years in the parts business, he retired in 1999. One of the highlights of his retirement was in 2002, when he and his wife served as Lighthouse Keepers for the National Park Service at Cape Lookout, NC for seven weeks.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joe Precht.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-two years, Marie Pace Floyd; and a son, Stanley W. Floyd and wife Gail of Louisburg, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian F. Fuller.

The family will receive friends at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 6479 Raleigh Road, Kittrell, NC 27544.

Arrangements are by Flowers Funeral Home.

My sympathy goes out to the family. Mr. Floyd was such a nice man. I remember going to NAPA with my father and how pleasant he was.
