RUBY E. WESTER

KINSTON - Ruby Edwards Wester, 84, of Kinston, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the home of her daughter.

Ruby grew up in a large, loving family in Louisburg, NC. and later moved to Kinston. She was a driven professional with a love of people. She was an entrepreneur and owned Bi-Rite Knits who clothed women of Kinston for many years. She was a Sunday school teacher at Northwest Christian Church. She retired from H. Stadiem. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Robert Edwards and Annie Pendergrass Edwards; by her sisters, Mozelle Thayer and Grace Smith; by her great-granddaughter, Kassidy Wynne; and by her loving husband, June Wester.

Ruby is survived by her children, Sylvia Wester and Carolyn Wynne of New Bern, NC, adopted son, Mike Wynne, of Richmond, VA, Pam Perry and husband Durwood Perry of Kinston, Kim Robb and husband Jeff Robb of Harrisonburg, VA; her grandchildren, Lee Wynne and Justin Wynne of Richmond, VA, Tyler Weeks of Wilmington, NC, Jesse Perry of Wilson, NC, Dillon Perry of Winston-Salem; and her great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Wynne of Knoxville, TN. Surviving siblings are Rose Jones of Knoxville, TN, Gerald and Linda Edwards of Louisburg, NC, Waylon and Debbie Edwards of Louisburg, NC, Mac and Ann Edwards of Greenwood, SC, and Ben Smith of Kittrell, NC.

Ruby's children will receive family and friends at 2:00 Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Northwest Christian Church in Kinston, NC. Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by burial at Westview Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
