JIMMIE B. YOUNG, SR.

FRANKLINTON - Jimmie Bryant Young, Sr., 75, of Franklinton, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Nora and Jim Tom Young and was retired from Burlington Industries as a supervisor after 28 years of service. Jimmie was a man of strong faith and was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He was a dedicated member and former chief of Northern Wake EMS and was a former security guard at Southeastern Seminary. He attended Campbell University.

A memorial service was held at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening, November 17, 2015 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, with the Rev. Carl Hunter officiating.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dorothy Piper "Dot" Young; daughters, Felecia Y. Stephens and husband, Mark, of Wake Forest, and Vanessa Y. Houston and husband, Michael, of Raleigh; son, Bryant Young of Zebulon; sister, Janie Satterwhite and husband, James, of Louisburg; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bryson, Michaela, Walker, Morgan, and Greyson; great-grandchildren, Brayan, Lexie, Aubrey Jean, and Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eric; granddaughter, Beth; and siblings, Pete, Dykes, Ellis, Edith, Kaye, and Linzey.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Department of Aging, 127 Shannon Village, Louisburg, NC 27549 or to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mt. Olivet Church Road, Franklinton, NC 27525.
