September 21, 1915 - January 16, 2016

FRANKLINGTON - Annie Laura (Jones) Fogg, 100, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Louisburg, NC. Internment will proceed immediately following the services at Nelson Chapel Baptist Church in Louisburg.

Annie Laura (Jones) Fogg was born in Louisburg, NC on September 21, 1915. She was the eldest and last remaining of eight children. She married Frank "Spank" Harson Fogg in 1936 and moved near Franklinton Township. Frank preceded her in death in 1978. Frank and Annie Laura were farmers in Franklin County just outside of Franklinton city limits. They had nine children, four of which preceded her in death. Annie Laura worked for many years as a cafeteria cook at, then, B. F. Person School and later for the Louisburg Adult Day Care Center until 1996. She joined Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in 1925 and most recently sang in the Senior Choir until her health started to fail.

Annie Laura celebrated her 100th birthday on September 21, 2015 with over 200 friends and family members at her home. She was recognized by President Obama, as well as the mayor of Franklinton, NC, for her longevity and service to the community. She was admired and well-loved by all she came in contact with.

Annie Laura is survived by five children; Donald, Halas Ann, John O., Charlie (Nellie), Janice Gill (George); her special daughter-in-law, Gerri; her son of the heart, Douglas "Sam" Kelly; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg is caring for the Fogg family. We thank you for your prayers and condolences as we celebrate our beloved matriarch.
