FLOYD H. WILSON, JR.

LOUISBURG - Floyd H. Wilson, Jr., 89, of Louisburg died Monday, February 1, 2016 at his home. Born December 21, 1926 to the late Floyd Hambrick and Flossie Ellen Furr Wilson. Floyd was the first in his family to graduate, graduating from Appalachian State. He served his country in the Navy during WWII. He loved people, the outdoors, gardening and dogs. He was a National and International competitor of the Schutzhund dog sport, an avid supporter of NC State, Duke and was a Shrine Bowl Coach. He was preceded in death by his brother, Forest Wilson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel with the Rev. Mike Edwards officiating. Entombment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Wilson; his children, Alan Wilson (Anna), Kristi Randall, Karole Northrup, Jamie Linn (Donnie), Amy Wilson and Floyd H. Wilson, III (Melissa); his grandchildren. Taylor Rebecca Savage, Grant Thomas Savage, Austin Wilson, Jordan Randall, Dane Randall, Raney Anderson, Gavin Wilson, Ethan Wilson and Brody Wilson; his step-daughter, Alisa Lee (Gary); his step-grandchildren, Jordan Lee and Kendall Lee; his sister, Carol Eller (Joe).

The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.
