LARUE ALFORD KING
January 31, 1920 - February 7, 2016

BUNN - Mrs. LaRue Alford King, 96, passed away Sunday at her home. Mrs. King was born in Franklin County to the late Benjamin Smith Alford and Lula Stallings Alford. She retired from the North Carolina Medical Society as the Assistant to the Executive Director after over 30 years of service. Mrs. King was the oldest member of Bunn United Methodist Church where her father was one of the founding members and instrumental in constructing the church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, February 10, 2016 at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Bunn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. King is survived by her children, Judy LaRue King of Durham, Robert Wayne King & wife Susan of Youngsville and Angie King Byrd & husband Doug of Bunn; sisters, Marjorie Mathias and Sallie Pappas, both of Raleigh; grandchildren, Robert King & wife Jessica of Zebulon, Kenneth King of Tucker, GA, John King of Louisburg and Matthew King & wife Lauren of Zebulon; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Robert Burns King.

Memorial contributions can be made to Bunn United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 142, Bunn, NC 27508 or to Bunn Rural Fire Department, P.O. Box 74, Bunn NC 27508.
