CLYDE JOHN WOODBY

KITTRELL - Clyde John Woodby, 86, of Kittrell, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 at his home.

Clyde was born in Marion, North Carolina to Leater and Myrtle Higgins Woodby. He served in the United States Air Force in San Antonio, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening February 24, 2016 in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in the Woodby Family Cemetery, Kittrell, NC.

Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Syble Joy Batten Woodby of the home. He was a loving father and was extremely proud of both his children and step-children, Linda Woodby Nash and husband, Thomas of Charlotte, Patricia Woodby Toone of Kittrell, Clyde Keith Woodby and wife, Diane of Raleigh, Louise "Lou" Woodby Ray and husband, Mitch of Youngsville, Thomas Woodby and wife, Brenda of Kittrell, Leater Allen Woodby and wife, Regina of Henderson, step children, Jason Brown of New York, Maryke Carrol and husband, Philip of Wendell; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Woodby was preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Faye Mills Woodby; son-in-law, Donnie Toone; grandson, Michael Toone and great-granddaughter, Hayley Toone.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Methodist Home for Children, 1041 Washington St., Raleigh NC 27605-1259.

Friends may visit with the family immediately following the funeral service at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg, NC. (919-496-4191)
