BOBBY WHELESS MURPHY

LOUISBURG-Bobby Wheless Murphy, 74, of Louisburg died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Nash General Hospital.

He was born on February 9, 1942 to the late Johnnie Garvis and Wilma Burnette Murphy. He loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren. Bobby was known affectionately as "Fat Cat," he was always ready with a joke or a word of encouragement. Bobby enjoyed car racing, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Murphy and Stuart Murphy.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Williams Murphy; his children, Doug Murphy (Ashly) of Boydton, VA and Geneva Murphy (Tabatha Ray) of Henderson; his grandchildren, Ashlyn, Tyler, and Madison; his sister, Margaret Shearin (Robert) of Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27,2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandy Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider contributions to Bobby's memorial fund.
