"PETE" A.C. SMITH
April 7, 1928 - March 3, 2016

LOUISBURG - Atlas Cohen "Pete" Smith, 87, of Louisburg, passed away Thursday afternoon at Wake Med surrounded by his loving family.

Pete was a son of the late Atlas Smith and Wilma Tharrington Smith. He was preceded in death by his sister, Violet Dorsey, and his brother, J.W. Smith. He was the founder of Pete Smith's Garage and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Ruth T. Smith; daughter, Sharon L. Smith of Raleigh; sons, Keith Smith; Greg Smith, both of Louisburg; Jerry Smith (Michelle) of Wilmington; sister, Faye Burnette of Louisburg; brother, Douglas Smith (Betty) of Henderson; grandchildren, Scarlett Smith-Johnson (Dawn); Kristi Parr (John); Parker Smith, Dallas Smith and Dustin Smith; great-grandchildren, Greyson Smith-Johnson, Lilli Parr and Gavin Smith; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 4 - 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Trinity U.M.C. Building Fund, 4246 US 401 Hwy. N., Louisburg, NC 27549.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg.
