LOUISBURG - Willie James "Howard" Evans, 59, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Transition Hospice Home in Cary. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 24, at New Liberty Baptist Church, Louisburg, with the Rev. Jamil Crosson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Darlington, S.C., and was educated in the Darlington County Public School System. He pursued a career in commercial truck driving.

Surviving: wife, Wanda Evans; daughters, Natalie Holloway (Kelvin), Nicole Patterson, Tawatha Patterson and Kynara Patterson; sons, Alexander Waiters (Tremisha) and Christopher Patterson (Kristel); sisters, Joyce Sansbury, Marguerite Ham and Lizzie Isaac (Robert); brother, Hazel Evans (Fannie); nine grandchildren; amd many nieces and nephews.
