ELSIE C. THARRINGTON
July 21, 1926 - April 1, 2016

LOUISBURG - Elsie Coggins Tharrington, 89, of Louisburg, passed away Friday morning.

Mrs. Tharrington was a daughter of the late Keeter and Gladys W. Coggins. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Allen Tharrington, Jr; sisters, Lillie Porter, Louise Debnius and Fannie Arrington; brothers, Clegg Coggins, Ronald Coggins and Alex Coggins.

A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Hickory Rock Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Tharrington is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Jim Cozart of Kennensville; Cathy and Leo Stallings of Louisburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Martha Tharrington of New Bern; Rick and Terry Tharrington of Goldsboro; sister, Joyce Joyner of Nashville; grandchildren, Allen Tharrington (Kathryn); Tony Stallings (Laron); Kevin Stallings (Miranda); Jamie Hoggard (Matt); J.T. Cozart and Ricky Tharrington; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Avery Stallings; Cole Hoggard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hickory Rock Baptist Church, 1580 Firetower Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
