JUDITH S. ALFORD

PILOT - Judith Stallings Alford, 85, died at her home on Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016. A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:15 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Pilot Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Alford Family Cemetery.

Surviving: sons, Chris H. Alford and Jan S. Alford (Teresa); sisters, Nell Williams, Evelyn Horton, and Florence Williams (Milton), all of Pilot; and two grandchildren.

She was born in Franklin County and was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny H. Alford; her parents, Herbert Edward Stallings and Mary Oma Stallings; and a sister, Mary Edward Stallings.

She was a graduate of Bunn High School, Campbell College, and East Carolina University. She was a teacher at Smithfield Elementary, Bunn Elementary, and Wendell Elementary, spending most of her years at Wendell. After her retirement she was a homemaker and helped to care for her grandchildren. She was a member of Pilot Baptist Church and spent many years as a Sunday school teacher.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
