LOUISBURG - Joseph Wesley "J.W." Ellington, 90, of Louisburg passed away on November 26, 2016. He was born in Franklin County on January 17, 1926 to the late Joseph Wellons and Norma Ethel Kearney Ellington. J.W. served his country in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. J.W. was an outdoorsman, who loved to fish, hunt, and enjoyed his garden. He took exceptional care of his parents as they aged and that is true of how he cared for his entire family.

J.W. is survived by his daughter, Susan Wheless (Joe); his grandson, Wesley Wheless (Megan); his granddaughter, Katie Marchaland (Adam); and his great-granddaughter, Emma Wheless.

The family received friends Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 7:00-8:30 pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC. Graveside funeral services were held on Monday at 11:00 am in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
