"T.H." THOMAS HENRY DICKENS, JR.
March 12, 1923 - February 25, 2017

LOUISBURG - Thomas Henry Dickens, Jr. left his home in the White Level Community for his heavenly reward on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

He was 93, born March 12, 1923 to the late T.H. and Mamie Dickens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Collins Dickens; siblings, Myrtle, Herman, Una Mae, Henry Morton, Hallum Kirkwood and Clayton.

He is survived by his family, Hal Dickens and wife, Faye; Dawn Dickens; Herman Dickens and wife, Tori; Mark Dickens and wife, Amy; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving caregiver and best friend, Helen S. Hicks.

Mr. Dickens was a well-known local storekeeper, farmer and businessman for nearly 60 years. He loved his church, serving over 25 years as church secretary, his family and history, especially genealogy. He also loved a good joke, his garden, ballroom dancing and bluegrass music. He was a beloved country gentleman and a man of his word.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at White Level Baptist Church by the Rev. Josh Parrott. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Level Baptist Church, 2400 White Level Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
