JEAN A. BOWEN

GREENSBORO - Mrs. Jean A. Bowen, 82, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at Beacon Place.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church, 314 Muirs Chapel Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.

She is survived by James Bowen, her beloved husband of 60 years, and Bailey Bowen, her beloved pet.

Mrs. Bowen was born and raised in Bunn, NC. She attended Parkview Nursing School in Rocky Mount, NC. After a brief pen pal relationship while Jim was stationed in Germany, Jean and Jim met in person, became engaged and married in August 1956. They resided in Greensboro since that time. Jean began her nursing career at Moses Cone Hospital as an OR nurse. She retired after working for more that four decades for Drs. Ellis, Cobb and Whitley at Cobb Animal Clinic, Greensboro.
