BUTNER - Cheryl Lynn Hagwood Nowell, 53, died Sunday, June 18, 2017. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 21, at 11 a.m. in the Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor, with Pastor Jim Shelley officiating. Visitation will follow the graveside service.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Wayne and Mary Lou Hagwood. She was of the Baptist faith and a retiree of John Umstead in Butner.

Surviving: husband, Jay Nowell; son, Chris Garrett of the home; father, Wayne, and stepmother Ernestine Hagwood of Louisburg; sister, Julie Riggan, of Rolesville; stepdaughters, Talon Kulp and Candace Dunagin. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Faulkner Hagwood.
