JOHN CLIFFORD JOYNER II

CASTALIA -- John Clifford Joyner II, 67, of Castalia passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017. He was born on September 19, 1949 to the late John Clifford and Virgie Gupton Joyner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Jane Altman and Ginger Davis.

John owned and operated "The Country Store" in Centerville since 1999 and prior to that, ran Joyner Grading for 40 years with his brother, Joel. John was a kind, humble, mild tempered, and giving person. He loved people and quietly helped many in the community.

A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the Joyner Family Cemetery, 461 Mount Hebron Rd., Castalia, NC 27816 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Burwell Stark officiating.

John is survived by his fiancé, Peggy Hopkins; his daughters, Jonnette Joyner Collins and Julie Joyner; grandchildren, Tyler Collins, Madison Collins, Trea Johnson, Adrianna Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Alexandra Seanor, and Kohle Seanor; his great-granddaughter, Macie Collins; and his brother, Joel Joyner.
