BETSY BAKER WEBB TANNER

YOUNGSVILLE--Betsy Baker Webb Tanner, 76, of Youngsville departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Rex Hospital. She was born on September 30, 1941 to the late Julius and Gladys Walston Baker. A member of Hill King United Methodist Church, Betsy, or more affectionately known as "Dada," was loving, sweet, and generous, but extremely opinionated. She was a diehard Carolina Basketball fan. Dada loved her family and referred to her great-grandchildren as her "babies." In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her husbands, Ronald Dow Webb and John Robert Tanner; her daughter, Julie Renee Strother; and siblings, Sylvia B. Webb, Peggy B. Tripp, Michael Baker, and Jackie Baker.

The family received friends Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC 27549. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Hill King UMC, with the Reverend Dave Bundy officiating. Burial followed in Lancaster Memorial Park. In honor of Betsy's love for UNC, you may incorporate Tarheel Blue into your funeral attire. Additionally, friends were invited to gather at Mike and Courtney's home, 45 Turning Leaf Ct., Youngsville, NC 27596 on Saturday from 2:00-4:00pm.

Dada is survived by her loving granddaughter, Courtney Strother West (Mike Connelly); great-grandchildren, Julie Ann West, Ethan David West, Luke Thomas West; her son-in-law, David Thomas Strother Jr.; her stepdaughter, Patricia Tanner Flowers (Paul); nephews Marshall Webb and Ricky Webb (Sue); a niece, Robin Brown (Mike); two great-nephews; three great-nieces; and numerous cousins.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
