TIFTON, Ga.--Marie Ellis Hayes Ayscue, 92, of Tifton, Ga., died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at her residence after an eleven-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Graveside services will be held at Oakridge Cemetery on the Ayscue family plot at 3 p.m. Friday, March 9, with the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors, Tifton, Ga., before the graveside service.
She was born in Kittrell, N.C., to Robert Ellis Hayes and Lois Johnson Hayes, both deceased. She graduated from Epsom High School in Franklin County.
She was the widow of the late George D. Ayscue, and was also preceded in death by her brother, Alvin Hayes of Durham.
Surviving: son Richard Gerald (Gerry) Ayscue (Susan) of Tifton, Ga.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
