MARGIE S. BILLINGS (June 6, 1931 – September 30, 2007)
LOUISBURG – Margie Smith Billings, 76, of Louisburg, died Sunday evening.

Margie was the daughter of the late James Wiley and Lucy Bet Tharrington Smith. She was an active member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Smith Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark Lynch officiating.

Margie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Billings; sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Lynn Billings of Mt. Holly, Tim and Bonnie Billings of Zebulon; sisters, Avis Pernell, Mildred Roberson and Marie Pernell, all of Louisburg; brothers, James Smith, Jr. of Louisburg, Michael Smith of Raleigh, Donald Smith of Louisburg; grandchildren, Brandon Billings and Morgan Billings; step-grandchildren, Chris Hood and Al Hood; step-great-granddaughter, Katie Hood.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Association, Eastern NC Chapter, 400 Oberlin Rd., Raleigh, NC 27605.

The family received friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg.
