JAMES H. TINGEN
YOUNGSVILLE - James Howard Tingen, 77, died Saturday morning, Oct. 27, 2007 at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Entombment followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Tingen was born in Franklin County, son of the late Betty Holmes Tingen and the late Hubert T. Tingen. He was the former owner and operator of Tastee Freez restaurants.

Surviving: sons, Charles Edward Tingen (Lori) of Youngsville and James Harvey Tingen (Annette) of Rolesville; sister, Van “Doodle” Ellington of Oxford; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ray Tingen.
