JESSIE P. PERNELL
HENDERSON - Jessie Pearl Pernell Pernell, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 at a local nursing home. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Flowers Funeral Chapel in Henderson, by the Rev. Daniel Jenks. Burial followed in the Pernell family cemetery.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Washington Pernell and Jodie Elizabeth Faulkner Pernell. She was the widow of Johnny Green Pernell. Mrs. Pernell was a homemaker and a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving: a daughter, Wilma P. Vaughan of Oine; son, Leon J. Pernell of Henderson; sisters, Annie P. Blanton of Henderson and Ernestine P. Strickland of Raleigh; a brother, Clinton Pernell of Butner; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Daphine Pleasants, Lorena Ayscue and Stella Pernell; and a brother, Johnny Hugh Pernell.
