LEON C. SMITH
FRANKLINTON - Leon Clifford Smith, 76, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 5, at First Baptist Church in Franklinton, with the Rev. Diane Dozier officiating. The Rev. André Johnson gave the eulogy. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

He was born to the late James and Maude Killebrew-Smith in Philadelphia, Pa. He attended school in Philadelphia and after graduation moved to New York. He was a retired truck driver. After retirement, he worked part-time at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

One daughter and seven older siblings preceded him in death.

Surviving: his wife, Joyce Ann Joyner Smith; three children, Darryle Wallace (Denise) of Orlando, Fla., Anganique Smith of Miami, Fla., and LaQuisha Silva of Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
