GLYNN B. CARTER
January 27, 1938 – January 29, 2008
LOUISBURG – Glynn Bryant Carter, 70, of Louisburg, died Tuesday morning.

Glynn was a son of the late James Willie and Ruth Catlette Carter. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Lynn Carter; sister, Willie Hardegree; brothers, Earl Carter and Tommy Carter. Glynn was a member of New Hope Christian Church where he served as a deacon and on the board of trustees. He retired from AT&T after 38 years of service and was an avid golfer.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Christian Church with the Rev. Tom Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Bunn Cemetery.

Glynn is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Grey Harlowe “Pokey” Carter; son and daughter in-law, Tim and LaDawn Carter of Louisburg; grandchildren, Amber Carter and Ashlan Carter, both of Louisburg; sisters, Myrtle Carter of Louisburg, Mildred Parker of Raleigh; brother, Billy Carter of Chewelah, WA.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to New Hope Christian Church, 2793 NC 98 Hwy. W., Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends 5 – 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home, 103 W. Franklin St., Louisburg.
