MICHAEL S. JOHNSON
CLAYTON - Michael Stephen “Mike” Johnson, 53, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 as the result of an auto accident. A memorial service was conducted Tuesday, June 24, at Trinity Baptist Church, Raleigh, with the Rev. Dr. G. Jeffrey Roberts officiating. and honors by the City of Raleigh Fire Department Honor Guard. Inurnment will take place in the Columbarium of Trinity Baptist Church at a later date.

He was born in Greer, S.C., to Joyce Burrell Johnson and the late Horace Arthur Johnson Jr. He worked with the Wake County Tax Department and later transferred to the City of Raleigh and became a firefighter, retiring after 22 years as a lieutenant.

Surviving: his wife, Belinda Lynch Johnson; son, Bryan Christopher Johnson (Jacqueline) of Franklinton; mother, Joyce Burrell Johnson of Raleigh; sister, Donna Johnson Siler (David) of New Bern.

Flowers accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Ashe County SPCA.
