FENNER Y. ROWE
October 4, 1915 – October 31, 2008
LOUISBURG – Fenner Yarborough Rowe, 93, of Louisburg, died Friday evening.

Mr. Rowe was a son of the late William Ernest and Mary Elizabeth Nelms Rowe. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mable Valentine, Swannie Upchurch, Nora Harper, Priscilla Duke and Clorene Joyner; brothers, Saunders Rowe and William Rowe.

He founded Rowe’s Men’s Shop in Louisburg in 1952 and was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He helped start a bus ministry at Sandy Creek and worked on the bus many years. He was a World War II Veteran and served in the Pacific.

Funeral service was at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joel Story and the Rev. Jon Dorsey officiating. Burial followed at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Mr. Rowe is survived by his wife of 71 years, Carnette J. Rowe; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Becky Rowe, Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bryant and Linda Rowe; W.E. and Daisy Rowe; grandchildren, Roxane Moore and husband Doug, Mike Rowe, Jr. and wife Ruth, Mark Rowe and wife Lisa; 7 great-grandchildren.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Christian Life Family Center Building Fund, P.O. Box 60, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family received friends at the home.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
