AVIS J. SEYMOUR
PILOT - Avis J. Seymour, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009. A funeral service was conducted Sunday, Jan. 11, at Pilot Baptist Church. Burial followed at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon.

She was the daughter of the late Bud and Maggie Tant Jeans. She graduated from Bunn High School in 1940 and worked with her late husband, Douglas Seymour, on the family farm and at Westinghouse in Raleigh until their retirement.

Surviving: son, Glenn Seymour of Raleigh; daughter, Diane Ray of Pilot; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Seymour; sisters, Adele Jones and Stella Perry; brothers Coy Jeans and Algie Jeans; and one great-granddaughter.

Flowers will be appreciated, or donations may be made to Pilot Baptist Church.
