JANET P. MITCHELL
CASTALIA – Janet Parrish Mitchell, 72, of Castalia, passed away Tuesday afternoon.

Janet was the daughter of the late Edward Harvey and Annie Bet Smith Parrish. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward G. Parrish.

A memorial service was at 7 p.m. Friday evening at Maple Springs Baptist Church. The family received friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Anna and Tony Parrish, 4216 NC Hwy. 56 E., Louisburg.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Doug Mitchell; daughter, Anna Martin Parrish and son- in-law Tony Parrish of Louisburg; grandchildren, Grayson Mitchell Parrish and Sydney Pearce Parrish; brother, Billy G. Parrish of Louisburg; sister-in-law, Jean O. Parrish of Castalia; brothers-in-law, David E. Watts and Leon Woodlief, both of Franklinton; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
