FRANKLINTON - James Sidney Joyner, 85, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Franklin Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 18) at Fairview Cemetery.

He was born in Richmond, Va., the son of the late Carrol Dunbar Saunders Joyner and James Sidney Joyner Sr. He was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church and was retired from First Citizens Bank after many years of service. He was a WWII Army veteran and served in the South Pacific.

Surviving: wife, Betsy Baker Joyner; daughter, Carol Louise Joyner of Franklinton (fiancée, Paul M. Lukosius of Youngsville); and two grandchildren.
