WAKE FOREST - Rufus Hildred Duke, 81, died Thursday morning, May 21, 2009 at Raleigh Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 24, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Haley officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Surviving: daughter, Ginger D. Batchelor (Tony) of Raleigh; son, Jerry Duke (Pat) of Raleigh; sister, Edith Badgett of Greensboro; brothers, Willard E. Duke of Raleigh and Jesse Duke of Wake Forest; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
