FRANKLINTON - Stephen Derek Kupec, 16, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. today (Saturday, Oct. 17) at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 12333 Bay Leaf Church Road, Raleigh. Mass will be celebrated following the visitation. A reception will be  held after the Mass, with burial in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.

He lived the past four months with his great-uncle and great-aunt, Brent E.  and Susan B. Lewis in Kelford. Prior to moving to Bertie County, he lived with his father, Timothy J. Kupec.

Also surviving are his brother, Austin W. Kupec;  grandparents, John P. Kupec and Sibyl L. Kupec of Wake Forest; great-grandmother, Della A. Lewis; half sister, Robyn Seale of Boston, Mass.; and a number of aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles,  and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any Capital Bank to the Stephen D. Kupec Memorial Fund.
