WAKE FOREST —Harvey Flayer, 90, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Youngsville Town Cemetery.

He was born in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Lillian Cohen Flayer and Edward Flayer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from York Furriers in Elmhurst, Ill., where he was sales manager.  He served on the Franklin County Planning Board for several years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Kritzman Flayer, and brother, Harold Flayer.

Surviving: daughters, Valerie Kosmos (Paul) of Youngsville, Sallie Frances Mills (Charles) of Minnesota; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Adult Day Program, 127 Shannon Village, Louisburg, NC  27549

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Bright Funeral Home, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest.
