YOUNGSVILLE —Sophie Denton Ingram, 83, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at Britthaven Nursing Center in Louisburg. A graveside service was conducted Sunday, Oct. 18, at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Gary Vassar officiating.

She was born in Franklin County, daughter of the late Lela Dean Denton and Sam B. Denton, and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter. She was retired from Exide in Raleigh.

Surviving: sons, Roy Perry of Charlotte, Gene Perry of Youngsville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
