DONALD C. BLEVINS

December 16, 1924 - August 21, 2006

LOUISBURG - Donald Coolidge Blevins of Louisburg, North Carolina, formerly of Bristol, Tennessee, died on August 21. He was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina, and had lived in Bristol, Tennessee most of his life. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his service during World War II in the U. S. Army with Company B of the 143rd Infantry Regiment. He was retired from the Sprint/United Telephone Company and was a member of Reynolds Memorial United Methodist Church.

Surviving Mr. Blevins are his wife, Lois C. Blevins, who resides in Louisburg; a son and daughter-in-law, George and Jane Blevins of Youngsville, North Carolina; and two granddaughters, Jessica and Erin Blevins of Bluff City, Tennessee. Also surviving are three sisters: Savonnah (Bonnie) Hughes of St. Petersburg, Florida, Enis (Peggy) Smosna of Pinellas Park, Florida, and Mable Hyler of Bristol, Tennessee.

Graveside services will be held in Bristol, Tennessee, on Thursday, August 24. Oakley-Blevins Funeral Home in Bristol, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
