ZEBULON - Geraldine Trevathan Strickland, 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Guardian Care. Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 7, at Union Hope Baptist Church, with burial in the Murray family cemetery.

She was born in Nash County, daughter of the late Walter and Elvie Brantley Trevathan, and was the widow of Roy Lee Strickland. She was a retired employee of Westinghouse with 35 years of service.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Trevathan.

Surviving: daughters, Lorine Jones (Milton) of Bunn, Pansy Crowder (Donald) of Wendell; sons, Larry Strickland (Charlotte) of Zebulon, Thomas Strickland (Joy) of Wendell; sisters, Alda Stanley of Smithfield, Allie Mae Phillips of Zebulon; brother, the Rev. LeRoy Trevathan of Wendell; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
