MATTIE “PAT” DICKERSON ESTILL
BATON ROUGE, LA - Mattie “Pat” Dickerson Estill died February 14, 2010.  She had just celebrated her 90th birthday and is survived by her three children, Nancy Estill David, John Robert Estill, and Alice Estill Mazzocchi; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Robert Coleman Dickerson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Lawson Charles Estill, and two of her children, Sidney Charles Estill and Tina Marie Estill.

Born on January 25, 1920 in Franklin County, North Carolina, she was a graduate of Epsom High School and the Raleigh School of Commerce.  She worked as a stenographer for the North Carolina Unemployment Compensation Commission and the Office of Strategic Services before and during World War II until she married, beginning her role as beloved wife, mother, teacher and volunteer in Shreveport and later in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Visitation was held on February 16, 2010 from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m., with the funeral service followed by graveside services to be held on February 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street.
