YOUNGSVILLE —Douglas Joseph Sykora, 67, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Duke University Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Fuller Chapel United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Tammy Ayscue officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was born in Queens, N.Y., son of the late Joseph and Florence Sykora, and was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Sykora.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and National Guard.

Surviving: daughter, Stacey Tator (Troy); sons, Keith Sykora of Youngsville, David Sykora (Lori) of Waterford, Conn.; brother, Dennis Sykora (Pauline) of Long Island, N.Y.;  and seven grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family from 7-8:30 p.m. today (Saturday, April 10) at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.
