WAKE FOREST - Erlene Knight Pendergrass, 81, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at her residence. Funeral service was conducted Thursday, May 20, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest, with the Rev. Al Thomas officiating. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Sophie Poole Medlin Knight and Jason Henry Knight.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jordan Pendergrass; son, George Thomas Pendergrass and wife, Carol; and a brother, Johnny Knight.

Surviving: son, Donald Ray Pendergrass (Carla) of Youngsville; sisters, Annie Ruth Scarborough of Garner and Alice Faye Godfrey of Franklinton; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
