EDWARD CLAYTON WALLACE


MOREHEAD CITY - Retired Master Sgt. Edmond Clayton Wallace, “Mickey”, “Alcapone”, 73, of Morehead City, formerly of Louisburg and Durham, passed away on Wednesday, June 16th, at home with his family by his side. Services will be private.

Mr. Wallace was a graduate of Durham High School – Class of 1956.  He attended Atlantic Christian College and Campbell University. Mr. Wallace was a policeman in Durham and one of the 1st motorcycle patrolmen.  He was in the Army National Guard and retired with 27 years service.  Mr. Wallace was a distinguished recruiter for the State, earning the Chiefs 50 Award 5 years in a row.    

Surviving: daughter, Pamela W. Barr and husband, Patrick, of Gastonia; son, Edmond “Eddie” C. Wallace, II, and wife, Lori, of Newport; sister, Judith W. Hill and husband, David, of Hillsborough; brothers, Ronnie Wallace of Hillsborough and Bobby Wallace of Durham; granddaughter, Stephanie L. Barr.

Mr. Wallace was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Sara, and his parents, H. Clayton and Bea C. Wallace.

Family requests that memorial donations be made in the name of Mr. Wallace to their favorite charity.
