RALEIGH - Armagene Wilson Tharrington, 85, of Raleigh, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Wake Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Wilson, and her husband, George Tharrington.  She loved life and enjoyed people.  She was a member of Longview Baptist Church for many, many years where she sang in the choir.  She retired from NC DMV as an examiner after 31 years of service.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Longview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy McKinney officiating.  Private burial will follow in the Griffin-Tharrington Family Cemetery.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lucille T. Harper of Louisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
