Born in Franklinton, North Carolina on April 18, 1914 to the late Calvin and Anne May Brown, Virginia had been a Charlotte resident for the past 29 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Watts Patterson, who passed in 1964.
Surviving family members include her daughters, Vicki Curlee of Charlotte and Daisy Thompson of Indian Trail; grandchildren, Allison Mewborn, Chip Ivey, Tina and Seth Curlee; sisters, May Barfield, Grace Moore and Gloria Gillispie. Also surviving are 4 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 18th, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Road, Charlotte, with a service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in Franklinton.
